International classification of goods and services for trademark registration (the Nice Classification)
The Nice Classification (NCL) is an international system used to classify goods and services for the purposes of the registration of marks. The view of the trademark and the list of goods and/or services indicated in the Trademark Register determine the volume of the legal protection granted to the trademark. The list of the goods/services for which the applicant wishes to obtain the legal protection is indicated according to the current edition of the Nice Classification. The formulations of the goods/services must clearly indicate the goods/services excluding discretionary interpretation, be modern and understandable for referring the goods/services to the corresponding class of the NCL.
